Have some special talent? Maybe you're great at drawing, or making icons? Need a couple extra SP to buy that cool ability you've been wanting? Well, it sounds like you're the perfect candidate to start your own User Shop!
User Shops are little shops runs by users. There are 2 kinds of shops: freebie shops and SP shops. Freebie shops have merchandise that don't actually cost anything. For example, maybe you can request a piece of art or maybe they have some icons there for free use. SP shops are shops that sell their merchandise for Skill Points.
If you're not super into combat and you don't really mind giving up some of your SP, you can get some really neat stuff by browsing the Marketplace!
So, you're interested in running a shop? You'll have to do a couple of things. First, you'll need to start your thread in the User Shops board. It's a good thing for your title to be descriptive. For example, if I was selling signature banners, then I would probably want to name my shop "Signature Banner Shop" instead of just "Alley's Shop." This way people know more or less what your shop is about without even clicking it!
If you'd like, you can also label your shop's type. For example, if I was doing signature banner requests for free, I might call it "Free Signature Banners" or "Signature Banners Shop [Freebies!]" Now, what if you're selling a mix? Don't sweat it! You are by no means required to label you shop.
Next, you'll have to describe just what it is you're selling! Are you selling character designs? Avatars? Shimeji? Something else entirely? Make sure people have a clear idea in their head of what it is they're paying for. You might even want to have an example or two.
The third thing you'll have to decide are your prices. Of course, if you're working for free, you can skip this step! Now, there's no set price cap, but you'll probably want to keep your prices low so people will buy your stuff, na? Besides, a couple of SP go a long way. So decide on what you think is a fair price-- and you can always tweak them later if you want to.
There you go! Now you're ready for people to start buying! Remember-- have fun and good luck!
