Every character must go through Training before they are allowed to go on any missions. The purpose of Training is to help get you started on roleplaying as well as to teach you the ins and outs of the combat system.
As soon as your character is accepted, it's your job to start a thread in the Training board that corresponds to you. You can browse previous Training threads to see sort of what to expect. Then, the Head of your Division or a veteran member of that Division will come in and train you. Here is how it will go down:
You will start a thread under the proper Division's Training board-- Militant for Attackers, R&D for Engineers, and Recon for Technicians. Use the following format for the thread title: (Character)'s Training
In the body of the post, you'll make your first RP post with your character. Use the following prompts for your first post depending on your Division:
MILITANT DIVISION
You were told to report to the Training room by the receptionist who greeted you, and so here you are. You find yourself in a spacious dojo of sorts, with scarred wooden floors, bare walls, and a tall ceiling. Lining about a fourth of the wall to you left is a rack containing a variety of different weapons, from battle axes to bolas to scythes to crossbows. There are no sources of light in the room except for a single skylight in the center of the ceiling. The only other feature in the room is a simple wooden door in the wall across from you. There's no one here, so you'll have to wait a bit for your mentor.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
You were told to report to the Training room by the receptionist who greeted you, and so here you are. You find yourself in a... laboratory? It's a large room bright lights, more long than it is wide. The half of the room you just stepped into is teeming with what look like different science experiments-- robot parts in cardboard boxes, and shelves full of chemicals in test tubes. There are several lab tables, but only 2 of them seem to be completely clear of clutter. Past the tables is a large empty portion of the room. The white floor and walls are kind of blinding... There's no one here, so you'll have to wait a bit for your mentor.
RECONNAISSANCE DIVISION
You were told to report to the Training room by the receptionist who greeted you, and so here you are. You step into the room and close the door behind you... What?! It's pitch black in here!
After this, someone will accept the role of your mentor and post back. You'll take it from there. Remember that at this point, your mentor is allowed to (and probably will) give you OOC pointers on your roleplaying or combat. It's nothing to dread! They're just trying to help you get the hang of it. Feel free to ask them questions either in-character or out of character too-- that's what they're there for!
Interested in being a veteran member?
There are some prerequisites. Your character must be of a certain level, and at this point your character will need to apply for the rank by talking to Fiasco. Note that level is not the only factor, roleplaying and combat skill goes into the decision as well as how well you deal with confused newbies.
