Your character's Class will determine their duties in the organization as well as their fighting style, weapon choice, and abilities. Specializations, or Specs, are not mandatory but encouraged, as they give you access to more neat abilities and perks. Each Class falls under a certain Division of operation, which you can read about here.
The different classes are:
Attacker
Attackers are the offense of SHFR, the main military force behind the operation. Attackers are skilled fighters that aren't afraid to take on an enemy twice their size, because they know they have the cunning to beat it.
Engineer
The term "Engineer" encompasses two very different sides of R&D at SHFR. Engineers take charge of creating things, fixing things, figuring out how things work (and how best to break them!) From studying the mind and body's functions, to working with clockwork robots, to creating powerful poisons-- that's Engineering.
Techician
You can't sneak up on a Technician. They're the shadowy know-all group of the organization. Experts in espionage both in the field and through digital devices, they collect vital information and monitor the progress of different missions. Some Technicians may go out more than others, but don't let this fool you-- they can still take you on.
The different sub-classes, or specializations, are:
Brawler
A type of Attacker, Brawler are the ones that aren't afraid to get up in your face. They usually fight melee, and their attacks focus on sheer power. They as good at taking damage as they are at dealing it.
Assassin
Another type of Attacker, Assassins prefer to keep a good amount of distance between themselves and their target. They typically fight ranged, and they tend to focus more on speed and agility than absolute power. If you pick a fight with an Assassin, prepare to end the fight completely exhausted and without having landed a single hit.
Chemist
While the Chemists are the ones who run the Medical Bay, they aren't exactly the type of doctors you'd want to pay a visit to. Healing is a double-edged sword, and chemists sure know how to wield it. Their powerful medicine can quickly be transformed into potent poisons, and they know all the right places to hit you.
Mechanic
Mechanics don't meddle too much in the biology side of Engineering. They're the ones who make the gadgets. From huge flying machines to tiny spy-bots, Mechanics have a device for every situation. Instead of taking you on themselves, they'd rather send their bots to do the job.
Agent
Agent work in the Reconnaissance Division, and that's exactly what their talent is-- recon. Whether they're tracking someone, breaking into a government office, or retrieving information undercover, Agents prefer to keep their true identity hidden. Working alongside Cyberscouts, these guys will come and go and you won't even know what hit you.
Cyberscout
With most of their energy channeled into mental power, Cyberscouts prefer to stay back at Headquarters and oversee missions from there. With a combination of Google and their own firewall-breaching skills, these master hackers have access to literally every side of the puzzle. They not only help collect info, they also guide their allies through missions by providing them with crucial facts at the right time, as well as maybe knocking out a few security cameras along the way.
